We had dinner at Tykes on the 28/02 as we were staying next door at Sandburn Hall. We booked a table, but the restaurant was fairly quiet. The tables are set out really nicely with plenty of space between neighbouring tables so you don’t feel cramped. For mains, we had the ‘Tykes Burger’ and ‘Duo Of Lamb’. Both meals were delicious- it took a little while for food to come but you can tell it’s because it’s cooked from scratch, quality was amazing and really tasty! We went for the ‘Banana Mille-Fuille’ for dessert - again really yummy! The staff were all really friendly and attentive. The menu wasn’t huge and there was quite a few dishes that I personally wouldn’t choose so if you’re picky it’s maybe best to have a look at the menu beforehand. I’d love it if it was closer to home as I’d definitely come again! If we stay at Sandburn Hall again I’ll definitely book a table.
One of the best Sunday dinners I have had in a long time and such great value for money, 22 for 2 courses. Generous portions, amazing selection of fresh perfectly cooked vegetables. I do t usually like a yorkshire pudding but I am so glad I tried this one - Ioved it! 10/10 Service was excellent too, friendly, polite and attentive - couldn't fault it.
Food was lovely for our evening meal and for breakfast. The atmosphere was great. The service we had was great apart from one waitress that could maybe do with a little more customer service training.
Absolutely wonderfull experience from beginning to end. The staff were very nice and proffesional whilst making us feel at ease. My wife and I both had steaks which were cooked to perfection and followed up with deserts which were equally as nice. I am very anxious in new places and I was made to feel at ease, Thanks again to the chef for the anniversary treat... We can't wait to come back.
We had an evening meal and breakfast here. The staff were excellent; attentive and sociable. We’d definitely recommend the Chicken option on the menu, the jus that it sits on has super concentrated flavour, amazing. The decor and atmosphere is really impressive too.
Superb! Really good food, friendly attentive staff and competitive prices too. Just been for a meal to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday whilst also staying at the neighbouring Griffon Forest which also got us a 10% discount. The staff kindly brought desert out with candles and a lovely birthday message. Easy to find with ample parking. Good selection of drinks and cocktails too. The only thing I can’t believe is why it’s took me this long to come here. Thank you guys
